Plymouth marina eyes major renovation, demolition of foundry building

4 min read

PLYMOUTH – A fixture of the downtown waterfront is up for a major renovation.

Owners of Safe Harbor, the marina at the mouth of Town Brook, have approached the town about tearing down the marine shipbuilding and repair facility at Water and Union streets and replacing it with a larger boat maintenance and storage facility.

They have also proposed an operations building overlooking the marina’s  docks and replacing underground fuel tanks with  new above-ground tanks.

The plan would not affect the waterfront restaurant at the marina, nor does it include any expansion of the docks and moorings.
