Two suspects with gun rob man of car at gas station: Beachwood police blotter

BEACHWOOD, Ohio — Aggravated robbery: Chagrin Boulevard

At 8:25 p.m. Nov. 22, a man, 61, was walking to his car after exiting the True North Shell gas station when he was approached from behind a corner of the building by two males, one of whom brandished a gun.

The suspects demanded the man’s car key, then took his car. The suspects have not been apprehended and the car has not been recovered.

Theft: Cedar Road

At 5:05 p.m. Nov. 18, police arrested a Cleveland man, 29, for stealing a hat, valued at $45, from Dillard’s at Beachwood Place mall, 26300 Cedar Road.

Trespassing: Cedar Road

At 7:30 p.m. Nov. 18, two males were found smoking marijuana in the pool common area at The Vantage apartments, 27040 Cedar Road. The males, 18, of Cleveland, and 16, of Mayfield Heights, do not live at The Vantage.

Apartment security requested that police ban the two from returning to The Vantage. The males were not charged.

Indecent exposure: Chagrin Boulevard

At 5:40 p.m. Nov. 19, police charged a Cleveland man, 55, with indecent exposure after he was seen urinating in the Giant Eagle parking lot, 24601 Chagrin Blvd.

Receiving stolen property: Chagrin Boulevard

At 6:45 p.m. Nov. 19, a Dodge Avenger automobile, later found to be stolen from Cleveland, struck the back end of another car at the intersection of Chagrin Boulevard and Fire Station Drive. The Dodge, occupied by two people, then sped off without its driver speaking to the other driver, a man, 30.

The stolen auto was found in a nearby Chagrin Boulevard lot. The two people who had been in the car had fled and were not located.

Theft: Cedar Road

At 8:05 p.m. Nov. 20, police arrested a New York City man, 41, for stealing merchandise valued at $960 from Nordstrom at Beachwood Place.

Theft: Cedar Road

At 2:35 p.m. Nov. 20, police arrested a Cleveland man, 23, for stealing jeans and a jacket valued at a total of $228.99 from Dillard’s.

Assault: Chagrin Boulevard

At 2:45 a.m. Nov. 21, police were called to the True North Shell gas station, 26100 Chagrin Blvd., where a man was in the process of assaulting a woman. The incident began, it was later learned, in a room at the nearby Hotel Indigo, 3581 Park East Drive.

The intoxicated man, 34, of Cleveland Heights, suspected his girlfriend, 33, of talking to another man. The man assaulted the woman and did so again after they walked to the gas station lot. The woman had an injured elbow and scratches on her body.

As police arrested the man, he resisted. Police charged the man with assault, resisting arrest and obstructing official business.
